Customized Underground Disaster Prevention Shelters Launched in Pilot Cities, Marking New Phase of Precise Disaster Relief in China

Recently, the domestic   one household, one policy   customized underground disaster prevention shelters have been put into use in pilot cities, building a    safety fortress at the doorstep    for residents. This marks a new phase of precise service in China  is construction of disaster prevention and refuge facilities. The newly launched customized underground shelters break the   one-size-fits-all   model of traditional refuge spaces. In the early stage, staff conducted door-to-door surveys and provided differentiated design schemes based on residents  family structures and special needs  

For elderly households, barrier-free access and emergency medical cabinets are added.

For families with young children, foldable baby beds and children  is  emergency food are equipped.

For solitary residents, the intelligent distress system and material reserve modules are optimized.

The main structure of the shelter adopts reinforced concrete with a seismic intensity rating of 9, and is equipped with an independent ventilation system, water supply system, and a 72-hour emergency material reserve area. It can withstand multiple disaster risks such as earthquakes, floods, and extreme weather.  

I used to worry about having no place to hide when disasters strike. Now there is a tailor-made shelter right downstairs, which makes me feel much more secure,  said Ms. Wang, a resident of the pilot community. It is reported that in the follow-up, relevant departments will optimize the scheme based on feedback from the pilot program and gradually promote it in disaster-prone areas across the country, making customized disaster prevention facilities a   solid barrier    for safeguarding people is  livelihood and safety.
