Recently, Deep Blue Shelter, an integrated civil underground safety facility in this city, was officially opened to the public for experience. This facility upgrades and transforms old air-raid shelters, integrating the functions of disaster shelter, short-term survival and emergency command. It marks that the concept of personal emergency protection is moving towards professionalization and community-based development.

Stepping into this underground fortress, you will find it equipped with an independent air circulation and water purification system, which can resist external pollution. The storage area keeps emergency food and medicines sufficient for at least two weeks, and is also equipped with a basic medical station. Multiple independently partitioned "family safe room" units can provide relatively private shelter spaces for children and the elderly, alleviating the psychological anxiety caused by disasters.

The initiator of the project stated, We are not propagating anxiety, but advocating a rational safety concept of being prepared for any eventuality. The key to such facilities lies in daily maintenance and community collaboration, so that they can be quickly converted into reliable shelter nodes in case of extreme weather or emergencies.

At present, this mode of underground safe rooms, constructed with the participation of social forces and supervised and guided by the government, has attracted wide attention from various parties. It may become a new exploration to enhance urban resilience and supplement the public emergency response system.
