Recently, the regional underground defense base, led by the Municipal Civil Air Defense Office, was officially opened to the public. It aims to provide citizens with a professional and safe emergency shelter during extreme weather conditions such as typhoons.
This base is upgraded and renovated from an early civil air defense project. Located deep underground, it possesses excellent capabilities in storm resistance, flood prevention, and impact resistance. The internal space is spacious, divided into independent family shelter areas, medical assistance points, and material distribution centers. It also stores sufficient emergency food, drinking water, and medical supplies. Meanwhile, the base is equipped with an independent power generation system and air circulation device, ensuring normal operation for up to several weeks even when there is a power outage outside.
A person in charge of the Municipal Emergency Management Bureau stated that this base will serve as a key part of the citys disaster prevention system, focusing on serving residents in low -lying coastal areas. When a typhoon red warning is issued, citizens in the surrounding areas can enter the base in an orderly manner according to the guidelines to take shelter. This significantly enhances the citys ability to safeguard peoples livelihoods in response to major natural disasters.
