Recently, many regions have focused on sudden emergencies such as fires and gas leaks, accelerated the layout and upgrading of community emergency safe houses, and strictly followed the standards of the Classification and Categorization of Emergency Shelter Sites (GB -T 45290-2025) to provide safe and reliable temporary shelter spaces for the masses and continuously improve the grassroots emergency support system.
The community safe houses upgraded this time are preferably located on the ground floor of buildings or open areas, built with fire-resistant and explosion-proof materials, equipped with fire doors and windows, emergency ventilation, lighting and escape equipment. At the same time, they store emergency supplies such as fire extinguishers, first-aid kits and drinking water, and clarify the shelter procedures and guidelines for scenarios such as fires. Some safe houses are also connected to the emergency communication system, which can link with fire rescue forces in real time to improve the efficiency of emergency response.
Relevant departments stated that they will regularly carry out maintenance and inspection of safe houses and emergency drills, popularize fire shelter knowledge, and guide the masses to correctly use protective facilities and master risk avoidance skills. At present, safe houses in many communities have been put into use, and the coverage will be gradually expanded in the future to promote the in-depth integration of safe houses with community governance and effectively protect the peoples lives and property safety.
